AFC Wimbledon ready to help out National League clubs if fans not allowed back next season

AFC Wimbledon would look at loaning their players to National League sides for no cost next season if clubs at that level again face the prospect of not having any supporters in stadiums.

The Dons made the gesture earlier in this campaign.

The two divisions below the top tier of the National League saw their seasons voided in the middle of February.

Wimbledon head coach Mark Robinson told the South London Press: “We offered players because we knew the problems they had. If they were in the same financial situation it is definitely something we’d look at doing.

“We’re not a club with loads of money ourselves, but football has to help each other out and probably doesn’t do that enough.

“Hopefully that is not the case and crowds are back next season. But it is really important we help each other out whenever we can.”
