AFC Wimbledon sign former Stoke City keeper Nathan Broome
AFC Wimbledon have signed goalkeeper Nathan Broome on a two-and-a-half-year deal.
The 20-year-old departed Stoke City and joins the Dons on a free transfer. He becomes the fourth signing made by Wimbledon head coach Mark Robinson (pictured).
The former Potters stopper had been on trial with the Dons before signing a deal at Plough Lane.
Broome said: “A few other clubs were interested – Nottingham Forest and Lincoln – but Bayzo and the pathway persuaded me.
“I came down on a week’s trial and fell in love. I felt his sessions were top draw. He’s worked with Aaron Ramsdale, Kelle Roos and top keepers and that’s what I was looking for.
“The transition has been quite quick. Living in Manchester, it’s a big thing to move away, but Bayzo has been brilliant.
“He’s helped me settle in. I found out about Wimbledon’s interest in December. Bayzo and the head coach had been in touch and things moved pretty quick.”
