AFC Wimbledon to face two League One opponents in EFL Trophy Group Stage
AFC Wimbledon will take on League One sides Wycombe Wanderers and Crawley Town in the 2024-25 EFL Trophy Group Stages.
The Dons, who have been named in Group B of the Southern Section, reached the quarter-finals of the competition last season, with current holders Peterborough United beating Johnnie Jackson’s side 3-1 at London Road.
Wimbledon finished second in Group K last season after being Crystal Palace’s U21s and also beating League One side Stevenage on penalties.
The South Londoners also beat now Championship sides Portsmouth and Oxford in the knockout stages.
Crawley won promotion to League One after winning the League Two play-offs.
Wycombe finished 10th in the third tier last season.
One of the U21 Premier League teams will complete Group C, with Arsenal, Brighton & Hove Albion, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Fulham, Leicester City, Tottenham Hotspur, and West Ham United finding out which group they will be included in live on Sky Sports News on Thursday.
