Andy Woodman has no concerns over Bromley’s League Two red card record after Carlisle sending off
Andy Woodman admitted he was not concerned about his Bromley side’s disciplinary record after they picked up their fourth red card of the season in their 1-1 draw with Carlisle on Saturday.
Midfielder Lewis Leigh was issued with his marching orders in the 83rd minute at Hayes Lane for an elbow on Blues captain Sam Lavelle in the 83rd minute.
Carl Jenkinson was sent off on his first League Two start for the club in the 1-1 draw with Cheltenham last Saturday.
Ashley Charles was also sent off in the 3-1 defeat at Bradford in August.
Besart Topalloj picked up two yellow cards in the 1-1 draw at Colchester in September.
Leigh picked up the red card when the Ravens were 1-0 up, but Dan Adu-Adjei netted in stoppage time to salvage a point for the visitors.
“No,” said Woodman when asked if he was concerned about his side’s number of red cards.
“I’m concerned with Lewis’ one because it was ridiculous.
“With the others, the one at Bradford was a hand on the line. The one last week at Cheltenham was never two yellow cards, in my opinion.
“We were a little bit unfortunate there. We don’t want the lads not to make tackles and go soft.
“That’s not what we’re about, but we do need to have a bit more discipline when it comes to what Lewis did today.”
Carlisle could have snatched all three points in the 97th minute on the counter-attack, but Jude Arthurs burst back into his own penalty box to block Taylor Charters’ shot at goal.
“It was amazing,” said Woodman.
“Fair play to Jude.
“That sums him up, doesn’t it? ”
