Arsenal loanee earns praise off Millwall boss

BY ALEX GRACE
Gary Rowett was keen to praise Brooke Norton-Cuffy after the Arsenal loanee impressed on his second Millwall start.
“He showed similar energy to last week,” said Rowett, speaking after Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Birmingham. “He was very good last week as well. He hasn’t played many minutes this season, so I thought for the first half he was excellent.”
The Lions boss also had warm words for Murray Wallace, who came into the side to replace the injured Joe Bryan.
“Muzza was getting forward well in the first half, obviously he is a bit more of a defensive player than Brooke – but we got to 60 minutes and they both looked to be fatiguing a little bit,” said Rowett.
The Millwall boss has admitted previously this season that his team have struggled in the latter stages and he felt that was again the case at St Andrew’s.
“We need to get to a point where the players come back after the break, and they keep turning over those physical performances out. I’m pretty sure they will.”
