Balham’s Herne Hill Harrier Katie Snowden through to 1500m Olympic semi-final with personal best in Tokyo

Balham’s Katie Snowden ran a personal best 4mins 2.77 secs to qualify for the semi-finals of the 1500m at the Olympics in the early hours of this morning, Monday August 2.

The Herne Hill Harrier was sixth of the top six, and qualifies alongside Laura Muir, who was second in her heat – but British champion Revee Walcott-Nolan’s 4mins 6.23 secs saw her nudged into seventh, outside the automatic qualifying places.

Katie tweeted: “Officially an Olympian & through to the semi-finals!”

The two semis take place at around 7pm Tokyo time on Wednesday, 11am GB time.
