Benik Afobe’s switch to Hatta Club is confirmed – striker sends message to Millwall
Benik Afobe’s move to Hatta Club has been confirmed, just days after the striker had his Millwall deal ended by mutual consent.
The 29-year-old striker was due to be out of contract at the end of the season.
But Afobe’s deal was ripped up towards the end of last week.
The former Arsenal, Stoke and Wolves frontman posted a couple of messages after sealing his switch to Dubai.

“I have left @millwallfcinsta by mutual consent. Thank you to everyone associated with the club for the past 18 months. I’ve enjoyed my time there with a great bunch of lads. I wish nothing but the best for you all.
“Dubai living and playing by the beautiful mountains of Hatta. Excited by this new adventure.”
Millwall are in the market to add to their attacking options.
“Forward areas, goals and attacking options – every club in every division wants the same,” said Lions manager Gary Rowett at the weekend.
“Benik going out, it has been done on the basis that we want to strengthen in those areas.”
