Ted Cheeseman is set to face Kieron Conway on June 21 at Bethnal Green’s York Hall – his first ring outing since his failed European title challenge.

The Bermondsey boxer is still British champion and will put that belt on the line against his Northampton challenger (12-1).

Cheeseman had won 14 straight before dropping a unanimous decision to Spain’s Sergio Garcia in February.

And the South London did not want an easy bout to feel his way back in.

“He [Conway] is a good fighter,” said Cheeseman. “But I have just been in with the number two in the world and much as I didn’t win I have got to put pressure on myself.

“I need to perform. I need to do the business.

“I’m analytical of my own performance and I have to make sure I try and make everything perfect.

“For me, all this fight is about is getting the win and getting that winning streak going again, coming back with a clear mind and I’ve got a big year ahead – I’ve got to get this one out of the way first.”
