Blackburn boss makes Millwall admission after Gary Rowett’s departure

Blackburn boss Jon Dahl Tomasson does not believe that Millwall’s style of play has changed a great deal after Adam Barrett took temporary charge of the side following Gary Rowett’s departure.

Rovers are just below Millwall in the table but have won their last two Championship outings on the bounce.

Blackburn denied Millwall a place in the Championship play offs last season after coming back from 3-1 down to win 4-3 at The Den on the final day of the campaign.

Rowett left the Lions by mutual consent last week, with Barrett taking charge of the 1-1 draw at Preston.

He told Blackburn’s website: “We’re side by side in the table, just like last season, where we had a good win there.

“We know Millwall are a good team and are a team that can be extremely dangerous with their direct play.

“They’re dangerous from corners, set plays and on transitions.

“We know they can be intense, we know they’re good at winning balls back and we know they can be extremely dangerous.

“We need to keep the ball and play around them. If we do the right things, we can produce a good performance against them.

“The assistant took over in their last game against Preston and they got a draw.

“I don’t think they’ve changed that much in the way they’ve been playing because the assistant has been involved with the manager before.

“We know it’s a team that has done really well in the last few seasons. It’s a game we’re looking forward to.”
