Bowyer: We will be looking for a left-back

Charlton boss Lee Bowyer says he will be looking to sign a left-back in the January transfer window.

The Addicks are short in the defensive position and Bowyer has earmarked a new left-back as his number one priority.

He said: “It is too soon to say what sort of players we will want to bring in elsewhere but we need to try to get a left-back, 100 per cent.

“Mahamaduo Naby-Sarr has played there but I am sure he did not like it because he is a big centre-back.

“We do not need to look overseas – there are enough in this country who can do a good job in that position.”

Bowyer expects to change up to 10 players for tonight’s game against Swansea.

“We want to give the other lads a chance,” he said.

“It will be good experience for them. I will be making a lot of changes.

“We are going to have to juggle things around. I have to look after the squad as best I can. The most important thing for me is the league. We had chances to win against Mansfield but did not take them.”
