Brentford recall Dons loanee

Brentford have recalled Nathan Young-Coombes halfway through his season-long loan spell with the club.

The Premier League side also recalled midfielder Paris Maghoma at the start of the window.

Former Crystal Palace and Chelsea youngster Young-Coombes recorded five goal contributions in his opening 10 games for the Dons.

He suffered a knee injury in the 2-0 defeat at home to Northampton in September, which saw the youngster return to his parent club for treatment.

The 20-year-old returned to action in Boxing Day in the 1-1 draw with Newport.

Johnnie Jackson’s side have also had Ryley Towler and Kyle Hudlin recalled in this January transfer window.

Speaking with our paper about Young-Coombes in November, Jackson said: “I’m really excited to have him back.

“He was a big loss for us when he got injured – he was one of the key reasons behind our good start.

“He was on form and scoring goals, but then he got injured, and that coincided, along with losing a couple of others, our little dip in form.

“To get him back will be brilliant for us. It gives us another attacking option, and that’s somewhere on the pitch where we are a little bit light.”
