Brentford v Crystal Palace starting line-ups: Mateta handed starting role and Kamada makes debut
Jean-Philippe Mateta has been handed the starting role in Oliver Glasner’s first side of the 2024-25 Premier League campaign despite only returning on Wednesday from Olympic duty.
The 27-year-old starred for France in this summer’s Games, scoring five times in six games as Thierry Henry’s side claimed Silver.
Odsonne Edouard had been starting for the Austrian manager during pre-season, but Mateta has come straight into the team for the trip to the Gtech Community Stadium.
Summer signing Daichi Kamada has also been given his professional debut for the Eagles by Glasner.
The Japanese attacker is starting alongside Eberechi Eze.
