Brighton show interest in Charlton Athletic defender Ezri Konsa – Everton were in pole position for deal
Ezri Konsa’s future may have taken a twist – with the South London Press told that Brighton have registered an interest in the Charlton Athletic defender.
Addicks owner Roland Duchatelet is ready to sell the 20-year-old centre-back at the right price and it seemed that Everton were in pole position to get a deal done this month.
But sources on the South Coast have suggested that Brighton are also keen on the England under-20 international, who is expected to cost in the region of £4million.
Konsa is the most saleable asset in the League One club’s squad and Duchatelet, negotiating a potential sale of the South London club with potential buyers, is open to another talented youngster leaving.
Charlton have previously sold Joe Gomez to Liverpool and Ademola Lookman to Everton.
Konsa has played 23 times this season and has filled in comfortably at right-back.
