Bristol Rovers v Charlton Athletic team news: Three Addicks changes but Chuks Aneke keeps place to make first consecutive starts for the club

BY LOUIS MENDEZ

Lee Bowyer makes three changes to his Charlton side for today’s trip to Bristol Rovers – but striker Chuks Aneke keeps his place despite playing 90 minutes against Rochdale in midweek.

Adam Matthews, Albie Morgan and Conor Washington all come into the starting eleven as the Addicks go in search of a first win in six outings.

The South Londoners have to do without skipper Jason Pearce, who serves a one-match suspension after being dismissed towards the end of the 4-4 draw with Rochdale on Tuesday. Alex Gilbey and Paul Smyth both drop to the bench, whilst Darren Pratley serves the final game of his three-match suspension for his red card at Hull.

Chris Gunter is expected to feature at centre-half alongside Deji Oshilaja, with academy player Charlie Barker earning a place on the bench.

Despite Bowyer often being careful to manage his minutes, Aneke makes the first consecutive league starts of his 18 months with the club after bagging a brace against Dale in midweek.

Charlton: Amos, Maatsen, Oshilaja, Gunter, Matthews, Morgan, Forster-Caskey, Williams, Millar, Washington, Aneke. Subs: Maynard-Brewer, Purrington, Gilbey, Bogle, Smyth, Schwartz, Barker.
