Brixton Bulls Women play first-ever rugby league game

Brixton Bulls Women’s team played their first-ever Rugby League game against Nottingham Outlaws.

The South London club suffered three injuries in a 44-12 defeat to Nottingham Outlaws.

Player-coach Philippa Robson suffered a sprained ankle and there was also a clash of heads between Kaye Selby and Helena Soloman.

Kelland Thomas-Smith and Sam Dore both played for England under-18s in home international victories against Wales and Scotland.

Bromley-raised prop Dore, who attends University of Leeds, has been signed by Castleford Tigers. Centre Thomas-Smith, from West Norwood, had an offer to sign for Wigan but is currently travelling in South America.
