Brixton heavyweight Dillian Whyte expected to box in America this summer
Dillian Whyte is set to box in America this summer before heading into a “huge” heavyweight clash towards the end of the year.
That is the plan being devised by Matchroom Boxing boss Eddie Hearn with the Brixton fighter now back in possession of the WBC Interim world title after his stoppage of Alexander Povetkin at the end of last month.
Whyte has previously talked about wanting to face WBA Regular world champion Trevor Bryan.
“I had a meeting with his team on Monday or Tuesday,” Hearn told iFLTV. “I’d like to take him to America for his next fight.
“I’d like a summer fight out there and then a huge fight over here at the end of the year.
“I’d like him to fight an American, but it’s not the deepest pool of fighters – Americans at heavyweight. If he is going to fight at somewhere like MSG then I’d like him to fight an American.”
