Bromley boss gives verdict on 2-2 draw at Notts County

Andy Woodman hailed the character of his team after Bromley fought back to claim a point against Notts County.

The Magpies looked to be heading for all three points before Tate Campbell scored with 15 minutes remaining to salvage a 2-2 draw for the Ravens.

The result keeps Bromley in eighth and only goal difference keeps them out of the National League play-off places.

Woodman told Bromley’s club website: “Both teams went for the win. Neither team sat back and tried to be safe and cautious.

“They’re a very good team. We got ourselves in front, but they came out second half like we expected. We got caught napping and I’m disappointed with both of their goals. But you do have to give Notts County credit.

“My team don’t give up and that’s fantastic. That’s what I love about this group of boys.

“You have to put things into perspective, we’re coming to Notts County who are a big club with some good players, but I’ve got some good players too and we’re competing with clubs like this, so that’s fantastic.

“When you come to places like this, you can’t expect to dominate. The lads are well drilled, they all know their jobs. I’m proud of everyone of my players.

“[Tate Campbell] has been fantastic. Birmingham City have been fantastic, I’ve had no pressure from them at all. We want to make sure, these players leave here better players. He’s been magnificent, he’s trained well and he’s a model professional.

“I still believe the play-offs are in our hands because we have to play Notts County again. But there’s no easy games.

“I’m delighted whatever the outcome is at the end of the season. We have put this club on the map, people are now looking at us differently. We are little old Bromley compared to Notts County but we are getting people to look up and realise we have good people at our place and we are doing the right things.”
