Championship clubs set to make moves for Charlton Athletic striker Lyle Taylor

Charlton’s resolve to hold on to Lyle Taylor is set to be tested this week by a number of Championship clubs.
Bristol City saw a swap bid knocked back recently but are still understood to be keen on striking a deal for the 29-year-old, who is out of contract at the start of July.
Taylor has knocked back contract offers from Roland Duchatelet and East Street Investments, who bought the club off the Belgian tycoon at the start of this year.
And the indications were that ESI would reluctantly listen to offers for the forward, who was the subjected of a number of bids from Brentford at the end of the last transfer window.
The Bees are still believed to be in the mix for Taylor with West Bromwich Albion – looking to add extra firepower to maintain their push for a return to the Premier League – also thought to be keen.
Charlton have only done one incoming piece of business in the window with Andre Green snapped up on loan from Aston Villa.
Taylor was in red-hot form for the Addicks from the moment he made the switch from AFC Wimbledon at the start of last season – 25 goals in 45 matches.
He continued in that fine scoring vein in the opening month of the Championship campaign – netting five times in the first six fixtures.
He then suffered knee ligament damage while on international duty with Montserrat and missed 13 league matches.
Taylor scored twice on his return before a thigh injury kept him out for two games.
He made his return in last Wednesday’s 0-0 draw with Fulham.
Let Taylor leave and use the money to strike a deal with Peterborough and get Maddison and Tooney. Then get a centre half and the young lad from Norwich. Hopefully enough to keep us up.
All said and done, with no incoming players seemingly imminent, although I would be very surprised if at least a couple are not signed up before the Barnsley game, Lyle Taylor has to stay, whether he signs a new contract or not. End of story !!
If Charlton want Taylor then they have to pay him that because his wages are still low on the old regime . who do you replace him with !The only one would be gale at Newcastle but I think we need him or I think will go down again goals win games
Heard fro a very good source he is on £10000 a week Charlton have offered £20000 he wants £30000
That as a lie
Firstly he not on 10000 that’s facts and he was not offered 20000 and it’s not about money it’s about the ambition of the player and that’s coming for a better source than yours
