Championship trio see bids knocked back for AFC Wimbledon midfielder Jack Rudoni

Sunderland, Huddersfield Town and Bristol City have had bids rejected by AFC Wimbledon for midfielder Jack Rudoni.

The Dons expect to lose the 21-year-old this summer but are determined it will not be on the cheap.

The South London Press has been told that the trio failed with offers that would have exceeded £1million if add-ons were triggered.

Rudoni, 20, scored 12 goals and also collected five assists last season – one of the few bright sparks in a miserable campaign for the Dons which saw them lose their League One status.

The academy product has netted 17 times in 106 outings for Wimbledon.

Rudoni has 12 months left on his contract but because he is under the age of 24 there would be compensation due if he did stay until the end of his terms.

New Dons manager Johnnie Jackson told our paper last week: “He [Rudoni] is a player who is really, really well thought of at the club – he’s a highly regarded young player.

“Obviously, there is a lot of interest in him, and the club turned down substantial bids in January. So, for him to leave, it would take another substantial bid to prise him away. He’s another young player that we don’t particularly want to lose.”
