Charlton Athletic academy goalkeeping coach to make Colchester United move

Charlton Athletic professional development coaching coach Yilmaz Aksoy is set to join Colchester United.

The South London Press understands that Aksoy will become the first-team goalkeeping coach at the League Two club, who are managed by ex-Addicks boss Ben Garner.

It is the second member of staff that has made the move to re-unite with Garner – following in the footsteps of Scott Marshall, who had been Addicks assistant coach alongside Anthony Hayes.

Aksoy played for Turkey at youth level and was at Arsenal and Leyton Orient as a junior. He played in the Bulgarian top flight before injury forced him to prematurely retire.

He also had more than three years as academy goalkeeping coach at Fulham. He joined Charlton in February 2021 and also founded in 2015.
