Charlton Athletic appoint new director of finance

Emma Parker has been promoted to the role of director of finance at Charlton Athletic.

An Addicks fan, she joined them in 2017 as finance manager.

Charlton owner Thomas Sandgaard said: “I am very pleased we have been able to appoint Emma as director of finance. She has done an excellent job throughout her time at Charlton and her expertise and knowledge have been invaluable since I took over the club.

“I don’t think it is any secret that it was a challenging 12 months for the club and Emma played a crucial role in Charlton coming through that period. My long-term ambition is for the club to grow and we’ve already started getting the building blocks in place for that with the senior appointments made so far.”

Parker said: “It is an exciting time to be working at Charlton Athletic and I am proud to be appointed as the director of finance at a football club so close to my heart. Thomas Sandgaard has taken over and has an ambitious vision for the future, so I am looking forward to playing my part in helping this club grow.”

The promotion of Parker is the fifth senior appointment since Sandgaard’s takeover in September following the arrivals of technical director Ged Roddy, commercial director Wayne Mumford, first team head physiotherapist Danny Murphy and non-executive director Leo Rifkind.
