Charlton Athletic board prioritise strong finish to campaign as end-of-season awards dinner to be rescheduled
Charlton Athletic’s board have opted to reschedule their end-of-season awards dinner – adding it is “as part of a club-wide focus on finishing the season as strongly as possible”.
The Addicks men’s side are pushing for promotion from League One with their excellent form not making a top-two finish out of the equation while the women’s team are third in the Championship standings.
Charlton men’s manager Nathan Jones said: “I mentioned after our game on Tuesday that we have asked the players to make sacrifices, to prioritise their rest and recovery, to give ourselves the best opportunity to continue our positive momentum.
“We are grateful for the support from our fans and look forward to celebrating the 2024-25 season with them.
“In the meantime, I am asking our fans to continue to get all their energy behind the team throughout an important eight to 10 weeks we have ahead of us.”
The Addicks added in a statement: “The event will take place during pre-season, while the club will work to ensure that the annual player awards, traditionally distributed at the end-of-season dinner, are presented to players ahead of the end of the 2024-25 campaign.”
