Charlton Athletic boss confirms goalkeeper absence for Wycombe match
Charlton manager Nathan Jones has confirmed that Ashley Maynard-Brewer will not be part of the squad for their League One finale at Wycombe on Saturday.
The Australian keeper has acted as back-up to Harry Isted since Jones became boss in early February.
Maynard-Brewer has been an unused substitute after making 25 appearances in League One this campaign but has been out of the matchday squad for the two most recent fixtures.
Asked if the stopper would be available for the match against the Chairboys, Jones said: “No. He picked up an injury – a jaw one. He picks up injuries because he is probably one of the bravest humans you could see.
“It was a collision injury. Being a goalkeeper you can’t risk that. We pulled him out with a couple of games left.
“It was in training, an innocuous one.”
