Charlton Athletic boss on his hope for tonight’s FA Cup second round draw

Johnnie Jackson is hoping that Charlton Athletic get a home tie in tonight’s FA Cup second round draw.

The Addicks booked their place with a 4-0 win over National League South side Havant & Waterlooville on Saturday afternoon.

The draw takes place live on ITV after tonight’s fixture between Dagenham & Redbridge and Salford City. Charlton are ball number 33.

“A home tie would be what we’re looking for,” said Charlton caretaker manager Jackson. “At this stage I haven’t got a preference who we play. In an ideal scenario we don’t travel.

“We have got some travelling ones where we go to Morecambe and Shrewsbury [on successive weekends]. We want to avoid any unnecessary travel, if we can.”
