Charlton Athletic boss reacts to Ronnie Schwartz’s departure
Nigel Adkins has given his reaction to Ronnie Schwartz leaving Charlton Athletic.
The Addicks confirmed yesterday that the Danish striker, 32, had seen his contract terminated by mutual consent.
Schwartz had 20 months left to run on his Charlton deal. But his only game time under Adkins was 11 minutes in the 2-2 draw at AFC Wimbledon at the end of March.
Adkins has opted for Jayden Stockley or Josh Davison to spearhead his attack this season but also has plenty of other attacking players in the shape of Conor Washington, Corey Blackett-Taylor, Elliot Lee and Jonathan Leko.
Schwartz scored one goal for the South London club.
“We wish him well – he’s a good guy,” the Addicks manager told the South London Press.
“Unfortunately it hasn’t worked out for him while he was here. We just hope he finds a club where he can start managing to play football.”

Pretty poor journalism re Adkins on Schwartz. ‘Good guy, we wish him well’ hardly groundbreaking and reveals nothing about Ronnie’s time at the club.
I think the fans would have appreciated something more in depth, rather than a sound bite!
