Charlton Athletic boss reckons transfer deadline signing will take time to bed in
Lee Bowyer reckons that patience is required as Dialliang Jaiyesimi settles at Charlton Athletic.
The young South London winger was snapped up from Swindon Town on transfer deadline day.
Jaiyesimi made his debut in last weekend’s 3-2 loss to Gillingham, replacing the injured Jake Forster-Caskey.
Charlton TV pundit Robert Lee felt the former Dulwich Hamlet youngster should have crossed the ball more to provide ammunition for Chuks Aneke and Jayden Stockley.
Asked about Lee’s comments on Jaiyesimi, Addicks manager Lee Bowyer said: “I thought he did okay. He got himself in some good positions and I make Rob right – he should’ve crossed it at times. But he checked back, it could be down to the pitch.
“I’ve watched it back and a couple of time he went to cross and it was bobbling up. So I think the pitch played a part to a certain extent.
“He is a young lad and we’ve got to take into account he has only been with us a couple of weeks. He’ll improve. He worked hard for the team out of possession.
“Overall he didn’t do too badly. But we set high standards. Could he have done a bit better at times? Yeah. But so could everyone else, everyone makes the wrong decisions at times.”
