Charlton Athletic bring in former Palace midfielder Joe Ledley on a short-term deal

Former Crystal Palace midfielder Joe Ledley has signed a short-term deal with Charlton Athletic.
The 32-year-old is understood to have penned terms until the January transfer window and is available for tomorrow’s match at Middlesbrough.
The Addicks have a heavy injury list – even though Lyle Taylor and Chuks Aneke could return on Teesside – with Beram Kayal, Sam Field and Josh Cullen all ruled out.
Ledley told the club’s official website: “I want to play as many games as possible, to come here, play football and show everyone what I can do.
“It’s a good club to be at, they are a great bunch of lads, I know a few of them here and they’ve welcomed me straight away.”
Charlton head of recruitment Steve Gallen said: “We’ve had Joe in to train with us for the week. It’s something we’ve been thinking about for a couple of weeks with the injuries that we’ve got.
“Lee’s been impressed, we’ve all been impressed, so we’re pleased to get him in.”
