Charlton Athletic caretaker boss Jackson provides Ryan Inniss injury update

Ryan Inniss is making good progress from his thigh injury but Charlton Athletic caretaker manager Johnnie Jackson is not expecting the centre-back to return to the first-team fold in November.

Previous Addicks boss Nigel Adkins revealed in the middle of September that former Palace defender Inniss was set to be sidelined for at least two months with his issue.

Inniss has not played since the 2-0 win over Crewe on August 28 and missed 27 league matches last season with a quad problem.

Asked for an update on his situation, Jackson told the South London Press: “He’s progressing well. The timeframe, I couldn’t tell you. I’m not expecting to have him any time this month.

“I’m pretty sure that the medical team are happy with where he is at, he’s very much within the range they were expecting him to be. But I don’t know his return-to-play date off the top of my head.

“Ryan is in good spirits. Hopefully he won’t be too long.”
