Charlton Athletic confirm Chuks Aneke departure

Charlton Athletic have confirmed that Chuks Aneke will be leaving this summer.

Birmingham City are set to confirm a deal for the 27-year-old striker, who scored 14 goals for the Addicks last season.

The Addicks had offered new terms to the powerful frontman, who initially signed a two-year contract when he arrived from Milton Keynes.

Charlton have added to their frontline with the permanent addition of Jayden Stockley from Preston North End for an undisclosed fee.

Most of Aneke’s goals in the previous campaign came off the bench as he proved to be a highly effective impact sub.

Charlton issued a statement this evening. It said: “Chuks Aneke will leave Charlton Athletic at the end of his contract on June 30, after two years in South East London, the club can confirm.

“The 27-year-old scored 17 goals in 62 games for the club.

“The club would like to wish Chuks all the best in his future career.”
