Charlton Athletic defender sent for scan to determine extent of knee injury

Young Charlton Athletic defender Lucas Ness has been sent for a scan to determine the extent of his knee injury.

The 21-year-old centre-back was replaced in the final five minutes of normal time in Saturday’s 1-1 draw against Accrington Stanley.

Palace loanee Jesurun Rak-Sakyi also came off in the 71st minute.

Charlton are back in action tomorrow night at Morecamble.

“Jes has picked up a knock on his ankle, so we’ll see on that,” said Holden.

“We’re not too sure on Lucas Ness. He has gone for a scan this morning. He felt something in his knee, so obviously that (sending for a scan) is the smart thing to do. We’ll see what the result of that is. Once we get the details then we will look to see how we move that forward.”

Centre-back Ryan Inniss missed the fixture at the weekend due to undergoing a dental procedure.

“Ryan has trained this morning, so he will travel with us and we’ll see how he is tomorrow,” said Holden. “He seems fine now and to have overcome the issue he had at the weekend.”
