Charlton Athletic handed attacking boost as Aneke and Washington resume full training

Chuks Aneke and Conor Washington were back in full training for Charlton Athletic this morning ahead of Tuesday’s trip to Plymouth Argyle.

The attacking duo – who have scored a combined total of 23 goals this season – have both been missing in recent weeks.

Washington suffered a hamstring injury against AFC Wimbledon in Nigel Adkins’ first match in charge.

Aneke has been sidelined with a groin injury.

But Adkins, speaking to the South London Press at 10am, said: “Due to join in training this morning are Chuks Aneke and Conor Washington.

“That’s not to say they are fit for Tuesday, but they are joining in with the main group.

“That means we’re moving in a positive direction for the run of games we’ve got coming up.

“The more firepower we can have available to us, the better.”
