George Lapslie will miss Charlton Athletic’s trip to Wigan Athletic on Saturday with a pulled hamstring.
The 22-year-old midfielder was the subject of loan interest before the recent deadline.
Lapslie has struggled for game time at the start of the season with the Addicks’ well-stocked in that area following the loan signings of Josh Cullen, Conor Gallagher and Sam Field.
But Bowyer was reluctant to let Lapslie go on loan and leave himself short of cover until January.
“George came in the other day with a pulled hamstring,” said the Charlton manager. “So he’s going to be out for a couple of weeks.”
Deji Oshilaja had been out with a groin injury and did not make the matchday 18 for the 1-0 defeat to Birmingham last weekend.
“Deji is back in and around it,” said Bowyer. “He was back training last week and has trained again this week.”
