Charlton Athletic reject bid for Macauley Bonne from Championship side
Charlton Athletic have turned down a bid from a Championship side for Macauley Bonne.
The South London Press has been told that the Addicks hierarchy have no intention of selling the striker, who they signed for around £200,000 from Leyton Orient the previous summer.
Charlton are under a transfer embargo but have now rejected offers for Bonne and Alfie Doughty. The latter has been the subject of two offers by SPL giants Celtic with Luton also trying their luck with a cheeky low bid.
Bonne starts in tonight’s EFL Cup tie at West Ham United.
The 24-year-old opened his account for the 2020-21 campaign as he netted in the first round tie at Swindon Town with a smartly-taken volley.
He has scored 12 goals in 37 appearances for Charlton.
