Charlton Athletic set for double deal as Blackburn’s Edun and Burton’s Taylor both inbound

Charlton Athletic are set to boost their squad with the addition of Blackburn Rovers defender Tayo Edun and Burton Albion midfielder Terry Taylor.

The South London Press understands that former Fulham player Edun will sign a two-year contract with the Addicks.

There is no up-front fee involved for the 25-year-old but there are add-ons in the deal.

Taylor has rejected a new contract at Burton Albion and is free to leave but there will be substantial compensation due as he is under the age of 24.

Plymouth media reported that Argyle had a bid rejected for Taylor in June. Cardiff City and Hibernian have also been previously linked.

Taylor, 22, started off on Aberdeen’s books before signing for Wolves at U18 level in 2019.

He has been capped at youth level by both Scotland and Wales, scoring two goals in 11 appearances for the latter’s U21 team.

Taylor had a loan at Grimsby Town before joining the Brewers in February 2021.

He stayed training with Burton to continue his recovery from an ankle injury suffered in February.
