Charlton Athletic set to have three injured players back for Saturday’s match with Derby County
BY RICHARD CAWLEY
Charlton manager Lee Bowyer has confirmed that three of his injured players will be back for the home game against Derby County on Saturday.
The Addicks boss was left with depleted options before the international break but his side still pulled off an excellent 2-2 draw at Fulham.
And Bowyer reckons the only doubt for the visit of the Rams to SE7 will be Chuks Aneke, who tweaked his groin in the 2-1 home loss to Swansea City.
Bowyer is expecting Tomer Hemed, Beram Kayal and Ben Purrington to have recovered from their respective injury issues.
“I’m not too sure on Chuks but the other three will be back for Derby,” said the Charlton chief. “George Lapslie has pulled out again with his hamstring.
“It’s really important that Ben is back because that left-back position is where we are short.”

As has already been said by some, it is about time that Charlton saw the same commitment from Hemed and Kayal as we have seen from the other signings. Perhaps they were both not match fit and Kayal came to Charlton with an injury, but there is still a lot of games ahead where they can prove their worth. Come on guys, get into the Bowyer and Charlton mentality !!
