Charlton Athletic set to wrap up deals for Palace and Chelsea defenders
Charlton Athletic look set to wrap up two deals today – bringing in Crystal Palace defender Ryan Inniss and Chelsea left-back Ian Maatsen.
Penge-born centre-back Inniss, 25, will sign on a permanent deal.
And Dutch left-back Maatsen, 18, will be the latest Blues youngster to head to SE7 after previous success stories in Conor Gallagher and Jay Dasilva.
Inniss has been capped at England U16 and U17 level and was regarded as one of the best young defensive prospects in English football as a teenager. He rejected interest from Manchester City to stay with the Eagles, but his two senior appearances have come for the SE25 outfit in the EFL Cup.
He has had loans at Newport County, Dundee, Colchester United, Southend, Port Vale, Yeovil , Gillingham, Luton and Cheltenham.
Maatsen joined Chelsea from PSV Eindhoven in July 2018 and is comfortable in a number of different positions.
He made his debut for the west Londoners in an EFL Cup win over Grimsby Town at the age of 17.
Maatsen is contracted to the Blues until the summer of 2024.
