Charlton Athletic v Derby County: Ben Purrington not fit as Darren Pratley drops into backline

BY RICHARD CAWLEY

Ben Purrington is not fit for Charlton’s home match against Derby County today.

The right-back missed the 2-2 draw at Fulham due to a groin injury and even the international break has not been enough to get the left-footer back.

It means that Jake Forster-Caskey is set to continue in the wing-back role he played at Craven Cottage.

The Addicks have other injury absences with Lyle Taylor (knee) and Chuks Aneke (groin) also missing out.

Centre-back Jason Pearce reported for training with muscle tightness earlier this week and is only on the bench. It is expected that Darren Pratley will drop into a back three.

Charlton have won one of their past 11 matches against Derby in all competitions, losing three of those but the Rams have not picked up a victory in their last 10 matches in London – drawing seven and losing three.

Charlton: Phillips, Lockyer, Sarr, Pratley, Solly, Cullen, Gallagher, Williams, Solly, Bonne, Leko. Subs: Amos, Oshilaja, Pearce, Kayal, Hemed, Field, Oztumer.

Derby County: Roos, Shinnie, Bielik, Paterson, Waghorn, Lawrence, Clarke, Martin, Davies, Bogle, Malone. Subs: Hamer, Wisdom, Dowell, Josefzoon, Bennett, Holmes, Lowe.
