Charlton Athletic v Plymouth: Lee Bowyer switches to 4-4-2 formation for first game in charge

By Richard Cawley

Charlton caretaker boss Lee Bowyer has gone with a 4-4-2 formation as he takes charge for the first time.

The Addicks former midfielder took temporary charge on Thursday following the resignation of Karl Robinson, who quickly assumed control at Oxford United.

Bowyer hands a start to Anfernee Dijksteel at right-back with Nicky Ajose and Michal Zyro paired together up front.

The Addicks are on a four-game winless streak and defeat to Plymouth today would see them be cast eight points adrift of the play-off places.

Plymouth are eight matches unbeaten – seven of those victories – and their form in the second half of the campaign has seen them climb away from relegation trouble and firmly into the play-off mix.

Charlton: Amos, Dijksteel, Bauer, Pearce, Page, Fosu, Forster-Caskey, Aribo, Reeves, Zyro, Ajose. Subs: Phillips, Marshall, Kaikai, Sarr, Lennon, Umerah, Maloney.

Plymouth: Matthews, Sawyer, Songo’o, Ness, Carey, Lameiras, Makasi, Threlkeld, Taylor, Vyner, Fox. Subs: Letheren, Ainsworth, Grant, Taylor-Sinclair, Fletcher, Paton, Sangster.
