Charlton Athletic v West Bromwich Albion team news: Young team named for FA Cup clash – Jonny Williams and Tomer Hemed return to the bench

BY LOUIS MENDEZ

Lee Bowyer makes nine changes as he names a young side for the FA Cup clash with West Bromwich Albion – but is boosted by the returns of Jonny Williams and Tomer Hemed to the bench.

Williams and Hemed have both been out since the 3-0 home win over Derby in mid-October but could be introduced in the closing stages to gain some valuable minutes in the closing stages as they bid to return to full fitness.

There is a debut for Aston Villa loanee Andre Green, with youngsters James Vennings, and Abraham Odoh also making their first starts for the club.

16-year-old midfielder Aaron Henry will also feature from the beginning – and would become the club’s youngest ever scorer if he were to find the back of the net today.

Toby Stevenson and Brendan Wiredu were recalled from loan spells at Dagenham and Colchester respectively for today’s game and come straight into the line-up as well.

Only Dillon Phillips and Josh Davison retain their places from the defeat at Swansea three days ago.

Charlton: Phillips, Stevenson, Oshilaja, Sarr, Solly, Vennings, Henry, Wiredu, Odoh, Green, Davison. Subs: Harness, Pratley, Williams, Gallagher, Hemed, Morgan, Powell.
