Charlton Athletic Women make addition as versatile McKenna arrives from Lewes

Charlton Athletic Women have signed Rebecca McKenna on a one-year deal.

The 22-year-old can play in defence or midfield and arrives from Lewes.

McKenna made 42 appearances in the last two seasons for the Sussex club and has been capped 21 times by Northern Ireland.

“As soon as I spoke to Karen (Hills, Charlton manager), it just felt right,” said McKenna. “I’ve only been here a short space of time but I’ve loved every minute of it.

“I’m going to give everything for the team and hopefully I can contribute.”

Charlton beat Oxford United 3-0 at the weekend in their latest pre-season friendly.

Angela Addison scored twice with Kate Longhurst also on target.
