Charlton Athletic Women suffer Valley defeat to Watford
Charlton are ninth in the FA Women’s Championship after a 3-2 home defeat to Watford at The Valley yesterday.
The Addicks were 3-0 down at half-time with two of those goals coming in seven minutes of stoppage time.
Sophie McLean scored after two minutes for Watford, converting after Carly Johns intercepted a pass by Charlton keeper Sian Rogers.
Rogers was forced off with injury after making a save from Andria Georgiou, Jess Gray replacing her.
Johns made it 2-0 in the second minute of added time before McLean was played through and beat Gray.
Carla Humphrey cut the deficit, scoring from a free-kick in the 58th minute. Angela Addison bagged the final goal of the contest in the 80th minute, the winger finishing at the second attempt after her initial attempt was blocked.
Charlton had drawn their opening two matches of the campaign. They head to Birmingham City next Sunday.
