Charlton Athletic’s Adam Matthews set to have hamstring injury assessed after early withdrawal during Oxford draw

BY LOUIS MENDEZ

Charlton full-back Adam Matthews is set to have a hamstring injury assessed after he limped out of the goalless draw with Oxford United at the Kassam Stadium.

The 29-year-old Welsh international was withdrawn 18 minutes into the clash with former Addicks’ boss Karl Robinson’s side, replaced by fellow Welshman Chris Gunter.

Boss Lee Bowyer said : ”He felt it when he headed the ball back to the keeper. He felt a little twinge. We’ll have to assess that and see how he is tomorrow.”

The game at the Kassam Stadium ended 0-0 – the Addicks are next in action when they welcome Northampton Town to The Valley on Tuesday evening.
