Charlton caretaker Jackson hoping for positive outcome soon to managerial discussions as Sandgaard extends stay in UK

Charlton caretaker boss Johnnie Jackson is hoping for a positive outcome soon to his discussions with owner Thomas Sandgaard over the permanent managerial role at The Valley.
US-based Sandgaard was originally due to return to the States after Saturday’s game at Shrewsbury but is now expected to remain in the UK until the home fixture with Cambridge United on 11th December.
Addicks stalwart Jackson, who has overseen a remarkable upturn in league results and also guided the side through to the third round of the EFL Trophy since replacing Nigel Adkins, explained that discussions over his temporary appointment being made permanent remain positive and he hopes for an outcome shortly.
When asked for an update following his side’s 2-1 win over Aston Villa u21s, Jackson said: “Just the same as before, really. Obviously he’s here, he’s still here so we’re seeing a lot of each other.
“We’re having a lot of discussions. They’re all good. We’re spending some time together. Hopefully we can get a positive outcome soon.”
