Charlton exit goalkeeper contract talks
Charlton Athletic are no longer in talks with Asmir Begovic over a deal ahead of the 2024-25 season.
The South London Press understands the Addicks could not agree personal terms over a financial package for the 37-year-old.
Experienced goalkeeper Begovic is a free agent having left QPR at the end of last season.
He made 46 appearances for the west Londoners last season.
Begovic is thought to be keen on staying in the capital and Fulham need a third choice goalkeeper after Marek Rodak joined Saudi Arabian side Al-Ettifaq.
Nathan Jones currently has Will Mannion and Ashley Maynard-Brewer as options heading into his first full season.
Harry Isted was sold to League One rivals Burton Albion.
Be thankful, you’ve dodged a bullet there. Why do Old pro’s believe they can demand big wages in lower league just because of what they used to be paid. Far better keepers out there, more youthful needing to prove a point, needing that break into men’s football. Take a chance on one of them instead. I find it quite funny though. I thought Celtic were interested in him, or was that just wishful thinking from himself and his agent.
