Charlton kick off 2021-22 League One season with home game against Sheffield Wednesday

Charlton Athletic are set for a tough start to their 2021-22 League One season as they face relegated Sheffield Wednesday in their August 7 opener.

It looks a tricky opening month of the campaign for the Addicks as they follow up with a trip to Oxford United, who reached the play-offs in the previous campaign, on August 14 before heading to Milton Keynes three days later.

Wigan Athletic, who are one of the division’s top spenders, head to SE7 on August 21 before the month is completed with a Valley date against Crewe on August 28.

Charlton head to AFC Wimbledon on Boxing Day and are at home to Wycombe on New Year’s Day.

The final match of the season is at Ipswich Town, another of the promotion favourites, on April 30. The reverse fixture is on December 7.

Charlton won their opening match of last season. Alfie Doughty and Conor Washington were on the scoresheet in a 2-0 victory at Crewe.
