Charlton left to sweat on goalkeeper fitness ahead of EFL Cup quarter-final at Manchester United
Charlton Athletic are set for a nervy wait to see if goalkeeper Ashley Maynard-Brewer is fit enough for Tuesday’s EFL Cup tie at Manchester United.
The Addicks stopper missed this afternoon’s home win over Lincoln after picking up a concussion during training this week.
Concussion protocols can last up to two weeks, which would rule the Australian out of the quarter-final tie.
Ashley "is following concussion protocol after taking a football in the face in training." Fear this means he may miss Tuesday, depends when the injury started etc. Think it's two weeks normally as per the below but could be mistaken #cafc pic.twitter.com/QyMlzPmOcc

Boss Dean Holden explained: “He’s following concussion protocols. He’s such a brave keeper. He took one flush in the face in training this week. He’s following protocols, that’s just a day-to-day thing. We’ll see how he is.
“It’s all complex. I don’t understand it myself. I’ll leave it in the hands of the physios. Day-to-day, he’s improving. But I don’t want to say he’ll be available for Tuesday, I’m not too sure yet.”
