Charlton-Portsmouth OFF – first Valley postponement for a waterlogged pitch since 2014
Charlton’s home game against Portsmouth this afternoon has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
It is the first time a Valley fixture has been called off for that reason since January 2014, when the Addicks were due to face Barnsley.
Charlton’s first home league postponed fixture down to a waterlogged pitch since the Barnsley home fixture back in January 2014.

The South London club had already warned the fixture could be off with a pitch inspection taking place at 2pm.
“Following a heavy downfall of rain in the last 24 hours, referee Robert Madley carried out a pitch inspection on the Valley’s turf and deemed it to be unplayable ahead of the clash with Pompey,” said Charlton in a statement on their official website.
“The club will communicate a new date for the rearranged fixture once confirmed.”
