Charlton set to sign released Luton Town keeper

Charlton Athletic are set to sign released Luton Town goalkeeper Harry Isted.

The 26-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at League One side Barnsley, making 22 appearances and helping the Tykes reach the League One play-off final at Wembley.

Barnsley, who were reportedly keen on bringing the keeper back to Oakwell this season, suffered a 1-0 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday in the final.

Isted will compete with 23-year-old Ashley Maynard-Brewer for a starting spot in Dean Holden’s side.

Joe Wollacott left the Addicks and joined Scottish Premiership side Hibernian on a permanent move today.

Isted has also had loan spells at Oxford City, Chesham United and Wealdstone during his career.
