Charlton U17s set up Premier League Cup final showdown after knocking out Manchester United

Charlton Athletic’s U17 side have reached the Premier League Cup final after a 2-1 win over Manchester United on Tuesday.

Ellis McMillan and Rueben Reid scored for the Addicks in the semi-final tie at their Sparrows Lane training ground.

Charlton will face Tottenham in the final. Spurs sealed their spot with a 5-0 thrashing of Derby County last month.

The Addicks have also knocked out Southampton in the last eight and had group stage victories over Arsenal and Fulham.

Charlton U21s also played on the same day and thrashed Blackburn 7-0 in their Premier League Cup tie to reach the quarter-finals.

Kaheim Dixon (three), Toby Bower, Patrick Casey, Ibrahim Fullah and Seydil Toure were their goalscorers.
