Charlton youngster makes National League loan switch

Charlton Athletic youngster Karoy Anderson has joined National League side Aldershot Town on a 28-day loan.

The 18-year-old midfielder made his first start for the Addicks under Ben Garner in the 3-2 EFL Cup defeat at Plymouth, replacing Aaron Henry for the final 14 minutes at Home Park.

Anderson scored on his Charlton debut in added time, taking the ball down just outside the penalty area, beating Plymouth midfielder Caleb Roberts and slotting his shot past Callum Burton.

Anderson had been on the bench for the previous EFL Trophy ties against Gillingham and Brighton’s U21s.

Aldershot are 19th in the National League table – five points above the relegation zone.

A statement on the Charlton website said: “Everyone at the club would like to wish Karoy the best of luck during his time at The EBB Stadium.”
